2024 Year in Review

Top 5 hotels and Top 5 restaurants from a year of living abroad in Australia while spending all of my husband's hard earned frequent flier miles (British Airways Avios redeemed for Qatar Airways first class pictured below)

Turns out content creation is not for me. After my last post almost a year ago, I had a great list of next post topics. Then I got (even) busier traveling and a year went by. Which means, this may be my last post. As has happened in the social media industry overall, I am interacting with more short form video, so the days of blog posts could be behind me. Until then, enjoy a few more travel updates.

Top Hotels for 2024 - Hilton pulls ahead

  1. Waldorf Astoria Maldives: Read a great review here

  2. Regent Phu Quoc Vietnam: Made the Conde Nast Hot List 2023

  3. Peninsula Bangkok: A deal versus some of the other luxury Bankgok hotels

  4. The Edition Singapore: Unsung hero in a stacked field

  5. Palazzo Las Vegas: A convenient suite-only hotel that punches above its weight

Honorable mention: Nihi Sumba - the best hotel in the world....and the only one I couldn't find a way to use points for

Top Restaurants - who needs Michelin anyways?

  1. Gagan Anand Bankok: Ranks high on 50Best but no Michelin stars

  2. Mott 32 Las Vegas: My own review on why it is the best in the West

  3. Odette Singapore: Michelin does get it right sometimes

  4. Gimlet Melbourne: The best "linner" in the Southern Hemisphere

  5. Turner's Cut Houston: No love given from Michelin's first ever review of Texas

So what does 2025 have in store?

Forecast looks travely, with a side of travel. Travel goals include Kimberley region of Australia, Tasmania, Switzerland, Austria, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, Seychelles, and Bhutan. Time will tell and thanks for the read!
